This long weekend I had made good use of all the spare time to investigate a bit on an external communications media plan; I have plenty of experience on this issue mostly on the political and trade area, and because of the dimensions and nature of the tasks at hand at the time social media was not a priority on my media mix. I am now working on the external communications for a non for profit foundation and social media is extremely relevant, and while investigating I came across some interesting facts and numbers that is taking me and the group I’m working with, to new horizons in this exciting world of communications.

Regardless of your company´s or campaign´s nature, using social media should be considered as part of the media mix you are planning. As for my group and I, we are still figuring out which social media would be the best for our project, taking into consideration the target audiences and the ultimate goal we are pursuing.
